Verbs and Conjunctions

In French, we use a lot of verbs and conjuctions just like in English. In this article, i will be listing and talking about the Verbs and Conjuctions used in French today. In French, Verbs and Conjunctions are a whole lot different from English as they are often pronounced the same but changes drastically in written form. French has more tenses and also a large amount of irregular verbs. 

Here is the list of French Verbs:
 

  • Être: to be

  • ​Avoir: to have

  • ​Faire: to do, to make

  • ​Aller: to go

  • ​Vouloir: to want

  • ​​Dire: to say, to tell

  • Pouvoir​: to be able to, can​

  • Savoir: to know

  • Voir: to see

  • Devoir: must, to have to

  • Venir: to come

  • Mettre: to put, to place

  • Prendre: to take

  • Aimer: to like, to love

  • Parler: to speak, to talk

  • Donner: to give

  • Attendre: to wait

  • Connaître: to know (people/places) â€‹â€‹

French verbs are action words that change their form​ to show tense.

Now, here is a list of  French Conjunctions:

  • Et: and

  • Ou: or

  • Mais: but

  • Donc: so, therefore

  • Or: now, yet

  • Ni... ni: neither... nor

  • Car: because, for 

Subordinating Conjuctions:​

  • Que: that

  • Pendant que: as, while

  • Quand: when

  • Lorsque: when

  • Depuis que: since (time)

  • Tandis que: while, whereas

  • Puisque: since

  • Parce que: because

Conclusion:​​

The French conjunctions ​are ​words that link words, phrases, or clauses together. In conclusion, Verbs and Conjunctions in French are different from English as they are more complex with different kinds of verbs and conjunctions. For example, changing endings with adding "e" or "ed".
